Introduction

This article will assist users in backing up and restoring Favorites in Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Backing up your Favorites

To back up your Favorites to your H: drive,

1. open Microsoft Internet Explorer.
2. Click the Favorites icon.
   
3. Next to the Add to favorites button, click the down arrow.
4. Click Import and export... The Import/Export Settings wizard will appear.
   
5. Choose Export to a file and click Next.
6. Check the Favorites checkbox. Click Next.
7. Select the top Favorites folder. Click Next.
   
8. Choose the location and filename of the Favorites HTM document.
   1. Click Browse.
   2. Navigate to your H: drive.
   3. Provide a file name for your exported HTML file or make note of the one already given.
      
   4. Click Save.
9. Click Export.
10. When you see the notice of the successful exportation of your favorites, click Finish.
    

Restoring your Favorites

To restore your Favorites,

1. open Microsoft Internet Explorer.
2. Click the Favorites icon.
   
3. Next to the Add to favorites button, click the down arrow.
4. Click Import and export... The Import/Export Settings wizard will appear.
   
5. Choose Import from a file and click Next.
6. Check the Favorites checkbox. Click Next.
7. Browse for your saved Favorites HTM file.
   1. Click Browse.
   2. Navigate to your saved Favorites HTM file. Select the file.
      
   3. Click Open.
8. Click Next.
9. Select the top Favorites folder. Click Import.
10. When you see the notice of the successful import of your favorites, click Finish.
