Introduction
This article will assist users in backing up and restoring Favorites in Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Backing up your Favorites
To back up your Favorites to your H: drive,
- open Microsoft Internet Explorer.
- Click the Favorites icon.
- Next to the Add to favorites button, click the down arrow.
- Click Import and export... The Import/Export Settings wizard will appear.
- Choose Export to a file and click Next.
- Check the Favorites checkbox. Click Next.
- Select the top Favorites folder. Click Next.
- Choose the location and filename of the Favorites HTM document.
- Click Browse.
- Navigate to your H: drive.
- Provide a file name for your exported HTML file or make note of the one already given.
- Click Save.
- Click Export.
- When you see the notice of the successful exportation of your favorites, click Finish.
Restoring your Favorites
To restore your Favorites,
- open Microsoft Internet Explorer.
- Click the Favorites icon.
- Next to the Add to favorites button, click the down arrow.
- Click Import and export... The Import/Export Settings wizard will appear.
- Choose Import from a file and click Next.
- Check the Favorites checkbox. Click Next.
- Browse for your saved Favorites HTM file.
- Click Browse.
- Navigate to your saved Favorites HTM file. Select the file.
- Click Open.
- Click Next.
- Select the top Favorites folder. Click Import.
- When you see the notice of the successful import of your favorites, click Finish.
