Before You Ask for Help, Try These Steps!

1. Chromebook Won’t Turn On

  • Hold the power button for 10 seconds. 
  • Plug in the charger. 
  • Wait 5 minutes and try again. 
  • Make sure the charging light comes on. 

2. Chromebook Is Frozen

  • Hold the power button until the screen turns off. 
  • Wait 10 seconds. 
  • Turn it back on. 

3. Internet/Wi-Fi Is Not Working

  • Look at the Wi-Fi symbol in the bottom right corner. 
  • Make sure Wi-Fi is turned ON. 
  • Restart the Chromebook. 

4. Sound Is Not Working

  • Check the volume buttons. 
  • Make sure the sound is not muted. 

5. Screen Is Black

  • Press brightness up. 
  • Restart the Chromebook. 
  • Make sure it is charged. 

6. Keyboard or Touchpad Not Working

  • Restart the Chromebook. 

7. Camera Is Not Working

  • Close other tabs or apps using the camera. 
  • Restart the Chromebook. 
  • Make sure nothing is covering the camera. 

8. Chromebook Running Slow

  • Close extra tabs. 
  • Restart the Chromebook. 
  • Plug in the charger if battery is very low. 

10. If It Still Does Not Work

Tell your teacher:

  • What is wrong 
  • What you already tried 
  • Any message you see on the screen 

Chromebook Care Reminders

  • Carry with two hands. 
  • Keep food and drinks away. 
  • Do not peel stickers or remove keys. 
  • Charge every night. 
  • Use only your own Chromebook.
  • Do NOT share passwords with friends.
